For influencer marketing in the GCC, Instagram is the default for most UAE brand work and anything that depends on aesthetics, TikTok is the strongest choice for reach and discovery, Snapchat is close to essential in Saudi Arabia, and YouTube earns its place for long-form reviews, tech, automotive and Egypt. Those are defaults, not rules. This post compares the four platforms by audience size in each market, formats, typical rates, tracking, whitelisting and measurement, then maps each platform to a campaign goal.
Which platform should you choose, in short?
Start with the market, then the goal. The market decides where your audience spends time. The goal decides which format and tracking method you need.
- UAE: Instagram first for most categories. Add TikTok for reach. Snapchat works for Emirati audiences and restaurants but is a secondary channel for expat-heavy targeting.
- Saudi Arabia: Snapchat and TikTok together, with Instagram for beauty, fashion and premium brands. Skipping Snapchat in KSA usually means skipping the daily-habit channel.
- Egypt: TikTok, YouTube and Facebook carry the largest audiences. Instagram matters for Cairo lifestyle and fashion.
- Kuwait and Qatar: Instagram and TikTok lead, with Snapchat strong among nationals in Kuwait.
- YouTube anywhere: use it when the buyer needs a 5 to 15 minute review before purchase, such as cars, phones, laptops and apps with a learning curve.
These are the patterns we see across campaigns. Your own category and audience data should override them. For market-level detail, see our UAE influencer marketing guide and the Saudi Arabia guide.
How big is each platform in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait and Qatar?
The table below uses DataReportal's Digital 2026 country reports, which take figures from each platform's own advertising tools as of late 2025. These are ad audience figures: the number of accounts an advertiser can target. They are not monthly active users, and TikTok figures only count users aged 18 and above.
| Market | TikTok (18+) | Snapchat | YouTube | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| UAE | 8.05M | 12.5M | 5.13M | 8.37M |
| Saudi Arabia | 18.2M | 38.6M | 25.3M | 27.5M |
| Egypt | 21.7M | 48.8M | 20.6M | 49.3M |
| Kuwait | 3.00M | 4.44M | 2.43M | 3.31M |
| Qatar | 1.70M | 2.95M | 1.24M | 2.31M |
Read these numbers with care. TikTok's 18+ ad audience is larger than the adult population in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar, which DataReportal attributes to duplicate accounts, age misstatement and census differences. Use the table to compare platforms within a market, not as a count of people.
Two more points matter for planning. In the UAE, about 90 percent of residents are expats, so audience country and language filters matter more than raw platform size. In Saudi Arabia, NapoleonCat counted about 20 million Instagram users in May 2026, and Snapchat reaches about 9 in 10 Saudis of eligible age, which is why it sits in almost every KSA consumer plan.
What formats does each platform offer for creator campaigns?
Reels carry reach and are the unit most rate cards price first. Stories carry clicks, because every account can add a link sticker. Carousels suit product edits, menus and before-and-after content where people swipe and save. Collab posts put the Reel on both the creator's and the brand's profile.
TikTok
In-feed videos of 15 to 60 seconds are the core deliverable. Lives suit launches, Q&A sessions and sales events where the creator talks through products in real time. TikTok content travels to non-followers more often than Instagram content, so creator follower count predicts reach less reliably.
Snapchat
The standard KSA deliverable is a Story sequence: 5 to 15 Snaps showing a visit, a product or a day with the brand, posted to the creator's public profile. Spotlight is Snapchat's short-video feed and works for creators who already post there. Public profiles show subscriber counts when the creator chooses to display them.
YouTube
Integrations are 60 to 120 second brand segments inside a longer video, or a full dedicated review. Shorts behave like Reels and TikToks and are priced close to them. Long-form videos keep collecting views from search for months, which short formats rarely do.
How much do creators charge on each platform?
The table shows typical ranges we see for mid-tier creators, one deliverable, organic posting only. Usage rights for ads, exclusivity and Arabic plus English versions are extra. Full tier-by-tier numbers are in our influencer rates guide for the UAE, Saudi Arabia and MENA.
| Deliverable (mid-tier) | UAE (AED) | Saudi Arabia (SAR) | Egypt (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Instagram Reel | 6,000 to 25,000 | 7,000 to 30,000 | 500 to 2,500 |
| Instagram Story set (3 to 5 frames) | 2,000 to 9,000 | 2,500 to 10,000 | 200 to 1,000 |
| TikTok video | 5,000 to 25,000 | 6,000 to 28,000 | 500 to 2,500 |
| Snapchat Story sequence | 2,500 to 10,000 | 3,000 to 15,000 | 200 to 1,000 |
| YouTube integration (60 to 120 sec) | 10,000 to 40,000 | 12,000 to 45,000 | 800 to 4,000 |
| YouTube Short | 5,000 to 20,000 | 6,000 to 25,000 | 400 to 2,000 |
Three patterns hold across markets. TikTok and Instagram Reel prices from the same creator sit within about 10 to 20 percent of each other. Snapchat Story sequences in KSA are priced as a daily habit product, so creators often sell them in weekly or monthly bundles. YouTube integrations carry a premium because a long video takes days to script, shoot and edit, and because views keep arriving after the post date.
Nano and micro creators follow the same shape at lower prices. A UAE micro creator charges AED 1,500 to 6,000 for a Reel in the ranges we see, and a Saudi micro creator SAR 1,500 to 7,000.
Which platform fits which campaign goal?
Match the platform to the action you want people to take. The table gives the first choice and a common second choice.
| Goal | First choice | Second choice | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Awareness and reach | TikTok | Instagram Reels | Largest ad audiences and the most non-follower distribution |
| Sales with discount codes | Instagram Stories | Snapchat (KSA) | Link stickers and swipe-up attachments send people straight to checkout |
| App installs | TikTok | Snapchat | Young mobile-first audiences, strong app install ad products for follow-on spend |
| Footfall (restaurants, retail, events) | Snapchat (KSA), Instagram (UAE) | TikTok | Location-led Story content that shows the visit in real time |
| Considered purchases (cars, tech, property) | YouTube | Instagram carousels | Long reviews answer detailed questions before purchase |
| UGC for paid ads | TikTok-style vertical video | Instagram Reels | The same 9:16 files run on TikTok, Reels and Snapchat ads |
For app campaigns, our guide to influencer marketing for app installs in MENA covers attribution in more detail.
How does tracking differ between platforms?
Each platform puts links in a different place. Plan the tracking method before you book, because it decides what the creator must post.
- Instagram: link stickers in Stories are available to every account and are the most reliable click source. Reels and feed posts cannot carry clickable links in captions, so pair them with a Story or a code.
- TikTok: clickable links sit in the profile bio, and eligibility depends on account type and follower count. Most clicks from organic TikTok are low, so use codes, or run the video as a Spark Ad, which can carry a call-to-action button.
- Snapchat: creators can attach one link to a Snap with the paperclip tool, and viewers swipe up to open it. This makes Snapchat Stories a strong click channel in KSA.
- YouTube: description links and pinned comments carry clicks for months after the upload date. Ask for the link in the first two lines of the description, above the fold.
Give every creator a unique link with UTM parameters, and a unique code where checkout supports it. Our tracking links and UTM guide shows the naming structure we use.
How does whitelisting work on each platform?
Whitelisting means running a creator's post as a paid ad from their handle. Each platform has its own name and permission flow.
- Instagram and Facebook: partnership ads. The creator grants the brand permission in the app, and the brand runs the post from Meta Ads Manager under both names.
- TikTok: Spark Ads. The creator generates an authorisation code for a specific video with a set duration, and the brand enters it in TikTok Ads Manager.
- Snapchat: Snap offers ways for brands to run creator content as ads through its advertising tools. Availability and setup vary by account, so confirm access with your Snap account contact before you promise it in a brief.
- YouTube: brands can run a creator's video as an ad through Google Ads once the creator links or shares the video. Confirm the permission route with the creator before the upload.
Whitelisting is paid usage, so budget an extra 25 to 100 percent of the fee in the ranges we see, and state the duration in the contract. The full process is in our guide to whitelisting, Spark Ads and partnership ads in MENA.
How do you measure results on each platform?
Public data differs sharply by platform. Instagram, TikTok and YouTube show public view counts on Reels, videos and Shorts, and likes and comments on most posts. Story views on Instagram are private to the creator.
Snapchat shows very little publicly. Story views, completion rate and swipe-ups are only visible to the creator. For Snapchat deliverables:
- Require insights screenshots of every Snap in the sequence within 48 hours of posting.
- Ask for audience country and age screenshots before you book, not after.
- Attach a tracking link to at least one Snap so clicks are counted on your side.
- Compare swipe-ups in the screenshots with sessions in your analytics. A large gap is a warning sign.
Hypein does not provide Snapchat analytics. It covers Snapchat through tracking links and the screenshots you collect. For Saudi-specific Snapchat planning, read our Snapchat influencer marketing guide for Saudi Arabia. For Egypt, where YouTube and TikTok dominate, see our Egypt influencer marketing guide.
How should you price multi-platform packages and cross-posting?
Most GCC creators are active on two or three platforms, and bundles save money when you plan them upfront. These are the patterns we see.
- Cross-posting the same video: posting a Reel as a TikTok, or the reverse, adds about 30 to 60 percent of the first platform fee.
- Platform-native versions: a separate edit for each platform, with different hooks, captions and length, is priced close to a second full deliverable.
- Reel plus Story set: the most common UAE bundle. The Story set drives clicks to the Reel and to the product page.
- KSA bundle: TikTok video plus Snapchat Story sequence, often with an Instagram Story added for link clicks.
- Language versions: Arabic plus English versions add 40 to 60 percent in the ranges we see.
List every platform as a separate deliverable in the contract, with its own posting date, format, link placement and reporting requirement. This avoids disputes about whether a cross-post counts as delivery.
Frequently asked questions
Which platform is best for influencer marketing in the UAE?
Instagram is the default for most UAE brand work, especially beauty, fashion, hospitality and restaurants, because Reels, Stories and link stickers cover awareness and clicks in one booking. Add TikTok when reach and discovery matter more than aesthetics, since its 18+ ad audience in the UAE (12.5 million in late 2025) is larger than Instagram's (8.05 million).
Do I need Snapchat for a campaign in Saudi Arabia?
For most consumer brands, yes. Snapchat had 25.3 million users in Saudi Arabia in late 2025 by Snap's ad tools, and daily Story sequences from Saudi creators are a standard format for restaurants, retail, beauty and events. Budget a mid-tier Snapchat Story sequence at SAR 3,000 to 15,000 in the ranges we see.
Is TikTok cheaper than Instagram for creators in the GCC?
Not by much. In the ranges we see, a TikTok video and an Instagram Reel from the same creator are priced within about 10 to 20 percent of each other. The difference is what you get: TikTok tends to deliver more non-follower reach, Instagram tends to deliver more clicks through Story link stickers.
How do I measure Snapchat influencer results?
Snapchat shows little public data on creator content, so ask the creator for insights screenshots of Story views, completion and swipe-ups within 48 hours of posting, and put a tracking link or unique code on every attachment. Hypein does not provide Snapchat analytics; it gives you a tracking link per creator so clicks are counted on your side.
Should I pay extra for cross-posting the same video to several platforms?
Expect to. In the ranges we see, cross-posting the same edited video to a second platform adds about 30 to 60 percent of the first platform fee, which is cheaper than two separate productions. Write it into the contract as separate deliverables with their own posting dates and reporting.
