UGC creator jobs in Egypt are paid briefs where a brand pays you to film short videos, voiceovers, reviews or sponsored posts, either for the brand's own ads and pages or for your own account. Creators in Cairo and Alexandria get this work from two buyers: Egyptian brands, and Gulf brands in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait and Qatar that want Egyptian Arabic or want good UGC at a lower cost than Gulf creators charge. This guide covers the job types, typical USD rates, where brands look, how to work with Gulf brands remotely and get paid, the Egyptian rules to check, scams to avoid, and a starter checklist.
What kinds of paid creator jobs exist in Egypt?
Most paid work falls into four types, plus billable extras.
1. UGC videos for brand ads
You film a 15 to 60 second video, usually on your phone, and deliver the file. The brand posts it on its own TikTok, Instagram or Meta ads account. You do not post it yourself. It is the most common remote job with Gulf brands, because follower count does not matter. Our guide on how to become a UGC creator explains the format in detail.
2. Sponsored posts on your own account
The brand pays you to publish a Reel, TikTok or Story on your account. Brands check where your followers live and whether they are real. Egyptian brands buy this most; Gulf brands buy it when selling into Egypt.
3. Voiceovers in Egyptian dialect
Egyptian Arabic is widely understood across MENA because of decades of Egyptian film, TV and music. Brands use Egyptian voiceovers for explainer videos, app demos and ads aimed at a pan-Arab audience. Our post on Khaleeji, Egyptian and Levantine dialects explains when brands choose each one. One honest limit: for Gulf-only ads, many brands prefer a Khaleeji voice.
4. Product reviews for e-commerce
Online stores, including sellers on Amazon and Noon, pay for short unboxing and review videos to put on product pages and in ads. Volume is high and fees are lower, so they suit creators building a portfolio.
Brands often add extras to an order: product photos, raw clips, or alternative opening lines (hooks) to test in ads. Price each one separately.
How much do Egyptian creators get paid?
The numbers below are typical ranges we see, not fixed prices. Quote in USD first. The Egyptian pound has floated, so EGP equivalents move with the exchange rate.
| Job | Egyptian brand (typical range) | GCC brand hiring remotely (typical range) |
|---|---|---|
| One UGC video, 15 to 60 seconds | $40 to 200 | $100 to 400 |
| Extra hook variant | $10 to 40 each | $25 to 75 each |
| Egyptian dialect voiceover, short script | $30 to 120 | $60 to 200 |
| E-commerce product review video | $30 to 150 | $80 to 250 |
| Sponsored post, micro creator | $100 to 500 | $100 to 500 |
| Sponsored post, mid-tier creator | $500 to 2,500 | $500 to 2,500 |
| Sponsored post, macro creator | $2,500 to 10,000 | $2,500 to 10,000 |
A few rules hold across both markets:
- Paid ads usage costs more. If the brand will run your video as a paid ad, add roughly 25 to 100% on top of the base fee, depending on how long and where they run it.
- Arabic plus English versions cost more. Two language versions typically add 40 to 60%.
- Rush jobs cost more. Delivery in 24 to 48 hours typically adds 25 to 50%.
- Agencies take a cut. If an agency books you, it may keep 15 to 30% of what the brand pays. Ask what the brand budget is when you can.
The reason Gulf brands hire in Egypt is simple: Gulf UGC creators often charge $100 to 600 per video, and a strong Egyptian creator can deliver similar quality for less. Use that to get booked, not to undercharge. Our guide to setting your creator rates shows how to build a rate card you can defend.
Where do brands look for Egyptian creators?
Be visible in more than one of these places.
- Instagram and TikTok search. Marketers search hashtags, locations and niches. A clear bio that says "UGC creator, Cairo, Egyptian Arabic and English" and an email address helps you show up and get contacted.
- Agencies in Cairo, Dubai and Riyadh. Many Gulf campaigns go through agencies that keep their own creator lists. Send a short email with your portfolio link to agencies that run campaigns in your niche.
- Creator platforms and rosters. Brands and agencies search platforms by platform, niche, city and audience country. Our post on where creators sign up for brand deals in MENA compares the options.
- Campaign application links. Some brands publish an open call and ask creators to apply with a profile and samples. Watch for these on brand pages and creator communities.

How do I work with Gulf brands remotely from Egypt?
Remote work with Gulf brands follows the same steps each time. Agree each one in writing.
Getting the product
Physical products need to reach you. Three common setups:
- The brand ships from the Gulf by courier. Ask who pays customs duties and fees at the Egyptian side, and agree that in writing. Supplements, cosmetics and electronics can be delayed at customs.
- The brand sends money and you buy the product locally, if it is sold in Egypt. Agree the reimbursement up front.
- The job needs no physical product: app demos, voiceovers, talking-head explainers.
Briefs, drafts and delivery
Ask for a written brief with the script or key messages, the length, the format (9:16 vertical is standard), the dialect, how many revisions are included, and the deadline. Send one draft for approval before final files. Deliver through a shared drive link with clearly named files. Our portfolio and media kit guide covers how to present past work so brands trust you before the first job.
Invoicing in USD
Send an invoice for every job, in USD, with your full name, the brand's company name, a description of each deliverable, the usage rights you are granting and for how long, the total, the payment deadline, and your payment details. Ask for 50% up front on your first job with a new brand. Our post on how creators get paid in the UAE and Saudi Arabia explains what Gulf finance teams usually ask for.
Getting paid internationally
Compare options before your first payment arrives. What is realistic in late 2026:
- International bank transfer (SWIFT) to an Egyptian bank account. The most widely accepted option for Gulf companies. Ask your bank about a USD account, the incoming transfer fee, and whether USD is converted to EGP automatically.
- Payoneer. Widely used by Egyptian freelancers to receive USD from foreign clients. Third-party comparisons we read in October 2026 put receiving and conversion costs at a few percent combined, but check Payoneer's own fee page for your account type.
- Wise. Known for low conversion fees on major currencies, but what an account holder in Egypt can receive and withdraw depends on Wise's current country support. Check Wise's own site before you put its details on an invoice.
- Local USD account services. Several newer apps market USD receiving accounts to Egyptian freelancers. Read their terms, fees and withdrawal limits carefully before relying on one.
Whatever you use, compare the amount that lands in your account with the invoice total. That difference is your real payment cost, and you can build it into your rates.
Which Egyptian rules should I check?
We are not lawyers, and rules in Egypt change. Treat this as a list of things to verify, not legal advice.
The Supreme Council for Media Regulation
The Supreme Council for Media Regulation oversees media under Law 180 of 2018. Legal guides on that law, including one published by the Egyptian digital rights group Masaar, say personal social media accounts do not need a licence, but that the Council can treat accounts with more than 5,000 followers like media outlets when it applies penalties. We could not confirm a separate influencer licence category in place in October 2026. If you publish paid promotions on your own account, check the Council's current position and speak to a local lawyer, especially before large campaigns.
Tax registration
The Egyptian Tax Authority announced in 2021 that online content creators earning income must open a tax file and pay income tax, and issued guidance for content creators in 2022. Reporting on that guidance says creators earning above EGP 500,000 a year through local channels may also need to register for VAT, and that production costs can be deducted. Ask an accountant how USD payments from foreign brands should be declared.
Gulf rules when you publish to Gulf audiences
Gulf media permits generally attach to publishing, not filming. Pure UGC that the brand posts on its own accounts usually does not require you to hold a UAE or Saudi permit. If a Gulf brand asks you to post on your own account aimed at Gulf viewers, or to run Spark or partnership ads through your handle, treat that as publishing and check the rules. Our UAE licence and Saudi Mawthooq guide explains both systems.
Disclosure
Label paid content with the platform's paid partnership tag or a clear "ad" label.
What red flags and scams should Egyptian creators watch for?
Walk away if you see any of these:
- You are asked to pay first. A "registration fee", "shipping deposit" or "training fee" before a job is a scam. Real brands pay you.
- Overpayment and refund requests. Someone sends more than the agreed amount and asks you to return the difference. The original payment often reverses later.
- Links and file downloads to "see the brief". Fake brand emails can steal your accounts. Never enter your password on a link from an email.
- No company name you can check. Search the brand, its website and its social accounts. If the email address does not match the company domain, ask why.
- Unlimited usage for a one-time fee. Not a scam, but a bad deal. Limit paid ads usage by time and platform.
What should my starter checklist look like?
Before you pitch your first Gulf brand, get these in place.
| Item | What to do | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Portfolio | Five to eight vertical sample videos in your niche, including one in Egyptian Arabic and one in English if you speak it | Brands book from samples, not follower counts |
| Rate card | Base price per video in USD, plus prices for hooks, ads usage, rush and second language | Stops you from guessing on every enquiry |
| Bio and contact | City, dialects, niche and a business email in your profile | Brands searching Cairo or Alexandria can find and contact you |
| Proof your audience is real | Screenshots of audience country, age and reach from your insights | Needed for sponsored posts on your own account |
| Invoice template | USD invoice with deliverables, usage rights, deadline and payment details | Gets you paid faster by Gulf finance teams |
| Payment route | A USD bank account or payment service tested with a small transfer | Avoids surprises on your first real payment |
| Tax file | Ask an accountant about registering with the Egyptian Tax Authority | Protects you as income grows |
| Simple contract terms | Revisions included, usage period, deposit and payment deadline in writing | Prevents most disputes before they start |
If your follower count is small, that does not stop you. Our post on brand deals for creators under 10k followers shows how UGC lets you get paid on content quality alone, and how to prove your audience is real helps when brands do care about your account.
How does the Hypein roster help Egyptian creators?
Hypein is a creator platform used by brands and influencer marketing agencies in MENA. Brands search the roster by platform, niche, city and audience country, then contact creators directly. Brands also publish campaign application links that listed creators can apply to. A Saudi brand looking for an Egyptian Arabic voice, or a Cairo brand looking for a beauty creator in Alexandria, can find you without a cold email.
What it costs you: nothing. Applying is free, staying listed is free, and Hypein takes no commission on your deals, because brands pay Hypein a subscription. You agree your fee with the brand and keep all of it. Hypein does not process your payments, so you still invoice and get paid using the steps above.
We cannot promise a number of deals or how fast brands reach out. Being listed puts you in front of brands that are searching; your samples, rates and replies do the rest.
Frequently asked questions
How much do UGC creators in Egypt get paid?
In the ranges we see, Egyptian brands pay roughly $40 to 200 for a single UGC video, and GCC brands that hire Egyptian creators remotely pay roughly $100 to 400. Sponsored posts on your own account run from about $100 to 500 for micro creators up to $2,500 to 10,000 for macro creators. Quote in USD first, because EGP equivalents move with the exchange rate.
Can I work for Saudi or UAE brands without leaving Egypt?
Yes. Most UGC work is remote: the brand ships the product or sends a brief, you film in Cairo or Alexandria, and you deliver files online. You invoice in USD and get paid by international bank transfer or a payment service that works in Egypt. Check customs for shipped products and agree who pays duties before you accept.
Do Egyptian influencers need a licence from the Supreme Council for Media Regulation?
We could not confirm a dedicated influencer licence category in 2026. Legal guides on Law 180 of 2018 say personal accounts do not need a licence, but the Council can treat accounts over 5,000 followers like media outlets when it applies penalties. Rules change, so check the Council and a local lawyer before you take paid promotions on your own account.
Do I have to pay tax on brand deal income in Egypt?
The Egyptian Tax Authority announced in 2021 that content creators earning income online must register and pay income tax, and later guidance says creators above EGP 500,000 a year may also need to register for VAT. Open a tax file and ask an accountant how foreign USD payments should be declared.
Is there a minimum follower count to join the Hypein creator roster?
No. Hypein has no minimum follower count. A person reviews every application and looks at content quality and real engagement. Applying is free, staying listed is free, and Hypein takes no commission on your deals.
