UGC creators in the UAE typically charge between AED 370 and AED 2,200 per video (about USD 100 to 600), based on the ranges we see across briefs in 2026. Where a creator lands in that range depends on four things: their experience and portfolio, the deliverable (a 15 second clip costs less than a 60 second testimonial), the usage rights you need for paid ads, and add-ons such as hook variants, an Arabic version or rush delivery. This guide gives you AED-first rate tables by tier and deliverable, an add-ons table, what monthly retainers cost, how VAT and licences work, and three worked budgets you can copy.
All figures below are typical ranges, not fixed prices. USD conversions use the dirham peg of 1 USD = 3.6725 AED, rounded. If you want the wider GCC view in USD alongside a brief template, our UGC brief and pricing guide for GCC brands covers that. This post stays on UAE pricing in AED.
How much do UGC creators charge per video in the UAE?
Start with two questions: how experienced is the creator, and what exactly are they delivering. The table below combines both. Rates are the base fee for one finished, edited asset with organic usage on your brand accounts. Paid ad rights and extras come later.
Rates by creator tier
- New UGC creators (under about 10 paid briefs): AED 370 to 735 per video (USD 100 to 200). Good for testing angles cheaply. Expect more revision rounds and simpler editing.
- Established creators (solid portfolio, repeat brand clients): AED 735 to 1,470 per video (USD 200 to 400). This is where most UAE brands buy. Lighting, audio and hooks are reliable.
- Top UGC specialists (proven ad performers, often with their own editing setup): AED 1,470 to 2,200 or more per video (USD 400 to 600 or more). You pay for strong hooks, fast turnaround and ad-ready cuts.
Rates by deliverable
| Deliverable | New creator | Established | Top specialist |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15 second video (single hook) | AED 370 to 550 (USD 100 to 150) | AED 550 to 1,100 (USD 150 to 300) | AED 1,100 to 1,650 (USD 300 to 450) |
| 30 to 60 second video | AED 450 to 735 (USD 120 to 200) | AED 735 to 1,470 (USD 200 to 400) | AED 1,470 to 2,200 (USD 400 to 600) |
| Photo set (5 to 8 edited images) | AED 300 to 550 (USD 80 to 150) | AED 550 to 900 (USD 150 to 250) | AED 900 to 1,470 (USD 250 to 400) |
| Unboxing video | AED 400 to 650 (USD 110 to 180) | AED 650 to 1,300 (USD 180 to 350) | AED 1,300 to 1,850 (USD 350 to 500) |
| Testimonial / talking head | AED 450 to 735 (USD 120 to 200) | AED 735 to 1,470 (USD 200 to 400) | AED 1,470 to 2,200 (USD 400 to 600) |
| Extra hook variant (same body) | AED 90 to 150 (USD 25 to 40) | AED 150 to 220 (USD 40 to 60) | AED 220 to 275 (USD 60 to 75) |
| Raw footage | Often an extra 25 to 50% of the video fee | ||
Two patterns hold across tiers. Talking-head testimonials cost more than voiceover clips because the creator is on camera and the script has to sound natural. And the cheapest way to get more ad creative is usually extra hooks on one body, not more full videos.
What add-ons change the price?
The base fee assumes organic use on your own accounts. Most UAE brands buy UGC to run as ads, so the final invoice usually includes some of the items below. Agree all of them in writing before filming.
| Add-on | Typical range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Hook variants | AED 90 to 275 each (USD 25 to 75) | Different first 3 seconds, same body. Best value for ad testing. |
| Paid usage rights, 3 months | +25 to 40% of base fee | Enough for one test-and-scale cycle. |
| Paid usage rights, 6 months | +40 to 60% | Common for evergreen product ads. |
| Paid usage rights, 12 months | +60 to 100% | Ask for a renewal price up front. |
| Perpetual rights / buyout | Negotiated, often 100% or more | Many creators decline or price it high. Buy it only when you need it. |
| Arabic + English versions | +40 to 60% | Needs a bilingual creator or a second take. Dialect matters. |
| Whitelisting / Spark code access | Flat fee or +20 to 50%, case by case | Ads run through the creator's handle. Check permit status. |
| Rush delivery | +25 to 50% | Usually under 72 hours from product receipt. |
| Raw files | +25 to 50% | Useful if your team re-edits. |
| Category exclusivity | +20 to 50%, by length of window | Creator cannot work with direct competitors for the period. |
| Script writing by the creator | AED 180 to 550 per script (USD 50 to 150) | Many include a light script in the base fee. Ask. |
On whitelisting: TikTok Spark codes are issued for set periods (7, 30, 60 or 365 days), while Meta partnership ad access has no fixed duration and should be set in the contract. Our guide to whitelisting, Spark Ads and partnership ads explains the setup. For how these assets perform once live, see UGC ads on TikTok and Meta in the UAE.
How much does a monthly UGC retainer cost?
If you need fresh creative every month, a retainer with one or two creators is usually cheaper per video than one-off briefs. In the ranges we see, creators give a 10 to 20% per-video discount for committed monthly volume, because they save time on onboarding and back-and-forth.
- 5 videos a month: roughly AED 3,000 to 6,500 (USD 820 to 1,770) with an established creator, organic usage, before add-ons. With a new creator, closer to AED 1,700 to 3,000.
- 10 videos a month: roughly AED 6,000 to 12,000 (USD 1,630 to 3,270) with an established creator, often with 2 hook variants per video included or discounted.
- What to fix in the retainer: number of videos and hooks, turnaround per batch, revision rounds (one is standard), usage rights term, and a 30-day notice period on both sides.
Keep at least two creators active if you run paid ads. Audiences tire of one face, and a second creator protects you if the first becomes unavailable during a key period such as White Friday in late November or the Ramadan 2027 run-up, when good UAE creators book out from December to January.
Do rates differ by category?
Yes, mostly because some categories need more setup, skill or specific kit. These are tendencies in the briefs we see, not fixed premiums.
Beauty and skincare
Expect the upper half of each tier. Creators need clear skin close-ups, good natural light and honest texture shots, and brands often want before-and-after sequences filmed over days. Make sure claims in the script are ones you can stand behind. Our beauty and skincare guide covers the category.
Food and beverage
Usually mid-range. Costs rise if the creator has to cook, plate or film at a venue, or if perishable product shipping limits the filming window.
Tech and apps
Screen recordings and app walkthroughs need clean screen capture and a creator who can explain features plainly. Rates are mid to upper range, and talking-head explainers cost more than voiceovers.
Real estate and property tours
Often priced per shoot rather than per video, because the creator travels to a unit or community in Dubai or Abu Dhabi and spends half a day on site. Add transport and access time to the quote.
Fitness and wellness
Mid to upper range. Filming workouts at a gym or outdoors needs location access, and creators with credible form and physique are in demand.
Who pays for product and shipping?
The brand does. Send the product free of charge, cover delivery within the UAE (and courier collection if you need it back), and say in the brief whether the creator keeps it. For high-value items such as electronics or jewellery, agree a return date in the contract.
Gifting is not payment. A creator producing ad assets for you is doing paid work, and the product is a filming prop. Seeding product to creators in the hope they post is a separate tactic with different expectations, covered in our gifting and seeding guide.
How do VAT, licences and agency fees work?
VAT
UAE VAT is 5%. A creator must register once taxable supplies pass AED 375,000 a year and may register voluntarily above AED 187,500. Many individual UGC creators are below these thresholds and do not charge VAT. Agencies usually are registered. If a creator charges VAT, they should issue a tax invoice with their TRN, and you add 5% to the fee in your budget.
Licences and invoices
To invoice a UAE company, a creator needs a trade licence or a freelance permit. A UAE freelance permit typically costs AED 5,750 to 15,000 a year depending on the free zone, which is one reason licensed creators sit higher in the range. Ask for the licence before you sign.
The UAE Advertiser Permit, mandatory since 1 February 2026, attaches to publishing promotions on one's own accounts. Pure UGC delivered to you and posted on your brand accounts or ads generally does not trigger it for the creator. If they also post on their own account, it does. If you run whitelisted, Spark or partnership ads through their handle, treat it as publishing and check. See our Advertiser Permit guide.
Agency commission
If you book through a UGC agency, expect a 15 to 30% commission or margin on top of creator fees. You get sourcing, briefing and quality control in return. Whether that is worth it depends on your volume and team; our comparison of UGC agency vs platform vs freelancers in Dubai walks through the trade-offs.
What does a realistic monthly UGC budget look like?
Three worked examples, using mid-range figures from the tables above. Add 5% VAT where the creator or agency is registered.
| Line item | Small DTC brand | Scaling brand | Agency testing 30 hooks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base videos | 3 x AED 900 = AED 2,700 | 10 x AED 1,000 = AED 10,000 | 5 x AED 800 = AED 4,000 |
| Hook variants | 6 x AED 150 = AED 900 | 20 x AED 150 = AED 3,000 | 25 x AED 120 = AED 3,000 |
| Paid usage rights | 3 months, +30% on videos = AED 810 | 6 months, +40% on videos = AED 4,000 | 3 months, +30% on all = AED 2,100 |
| Arabic + English | None | 3 videos, +50% = AED 1,500 | None |
| Product and shipping | About AED 300 | About AED 600 | About AED 500 |
| Agency margin | None | None | 20% on creator fees = AED 1,820 |
| Monthly total | About AED 4,700 | About AED 19,100 | About AED 11,400 |
Small DTC brand, about AED 5,000 a month
Three established creators, one video each, two extra hooks per video, 3-month ad rights. This gives you 9 hook combinations to test on Meta or TikTok each month. If one creator wins clearly, move to a small retainer with them next month.
Scaling brand, about AED 15,000 to 25,000 a month
Four creators producing 10 videos between them, 20 hooks, 6-month rights so winners can run without renegotiation, and bilingual versions of the three best scripts for Emirati and wider Arab audiences. Our guide to Arabic and bilingual UGC creators in the UAE covers when the Arabic version is worth it.
Agency testing 30 hooks for a client
Five creators each film one body and five opening hooks, giving 30 hooks in total (5 base plus 25 variants). The agency passes 3-month rights to the client and adds a 20% margin. This is the most efficient way to find a winning angle before committing to bigger retainers.
How do you negotiate fairly without underpaying?
- Price usage separately. Do not ask for unlimited, perpetual, all-channel rights at the base rate. Name the channels (Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, website) and the term, and pay for what you use.
- Buy hooks, not reshoots. Extra hooks are the cheapest creative you can buy. A creator will often discount a bundle of 3 or 5.
- Offer volume, ask for a rate. A 3-month retainer is a fair reason to ask for 10 to 20% off per video.
- Fix revisions. One revision round is standard. A second round on a creator's own mistake is fair; a second round because you changed the brief should be paid.
- Pay on time. Agree terms (for example 50% on signing, 50% on delivery, or full payment within 14 days of approval) and keep to them. Creators remember who pays late.
- Put it in a contract. Deliverables, usage, exclusivity, payment and permit responsibility in one document. Our contract template for the UAE and Saudi Arabia lists the clauses.
A price far below the ranges above is a signal to check the portfolio carefully, not a bargain. Our 12-point UGC creator vetting checklist helps you spot weak or recycled work before you pay.
Frequently asked questions
How much does one UGC video cost in the UAE?
In the ranges we see, one UGC video in the UAE costs about AED 370 to 2,200 (USD 100 to 600) for the base fee. New creators sit near the bottom, established creators charge around AED 735 to 1,470, and top UGC specialists charge AED 1,470 and up. Paid usage rights, hook variants, Arabic versions and rush delivery are priced on top.
Do UGC creators in the UAE charge VAT?
Only if they are VAT-registered. UAE VAT is 5%, and registration is mandatory above AED 375,000 of taxable supplies a year and voluntary above AED 187,500. Many individual creators are below the threshold and do not charge VAT, while agencies usually do. A registered creator should show their TRN on a tax invoice.
Is free product enough payment for UGC?
No. Gifting covers the product the creator needs to film, not the work. A UGC creator is producing ad assets for your brand, so you pay a fee on top of sending the product, and you cover shipping. Treat gifting as a separate seeding tactic, not as a way to commission content.
How much extra do usage rights for ads cost?
In the ranges we see, paid ad usage rights add about 25 to 100% to the base fee depending on duration: roughly 25 to 40% for 3 months, 40 to 60% for 6 months and 60 to 100% for 12 months. Perpetual rights are negotiated case by case and often cost double the base fee or more.
Does a UGC creator need a UAE Advertiser Permit?
Generally not for pure UGC that the creator delivers to you and you post on your own accounts or ads. The permit attaches to publishing, so if the creator also posts the content on their own account, or you run whitelisted, Spark or partnership ads through their handle, treat it as publishing and check that they hold a valid permit.
